Box Scores_ This Space for Rent

We were either short on games or short on a week, or both, so in the aftermath of E3 we’ll dispense with the usual highlights and get straight to Kotaku’s sports gaming open thread. That’s not to say I played nothing this week. I saw lots, and I’m still writing it up. The big highlight was my 24-21 victory, Saints versus (ahem) Chiefs, with EA Sports’ Rob Semsey helping me against two unknown QA leads from EA Sports’ Tiburon studio, in the Madden 11
online team-play demo at E3. Our booth in L.A., overseen by Madden designer Yuri Bialoskursky, was linked up with testers back in Florida, who would have tore us two new ones had they been playing with anything better than a terrible team, and we with anything worse than the best. Of course, I was also talking to Yuri and trying to take notes, so my head wasn’t completely in the game. Credit to Rob, as the quarterback, for sensible game management and getting us in range for the winning field goal while I gabbed with Yuri.(new Image()).src = 'https://capi.connatix.com/tr/si?token=995c4c7d-194f-4077-b0a0-7ad466eb737c&cid=872d12ce-453b-4870-845f-955919887e1b'; cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "995c4c7d-194f-4077-b0a0-7ad466eb737c" }).render("79703296e5134c75a2db6e1b64762017"); }); https://kotaku.com/raiders-maintain-commitment-to-crapulence-in-madden-rat-5555978 Box Scores will press ahead, though. I’m not going to guilt you into sending in highlights. Say a few words about why it was grand and we’ll open the discussion with it next Saturday.

Some games take a while to load on mobile, but once they start, the gameplay is smooth and exciting. I hope future updates improve mobile performance, but I still enjoy playing several hours a day.
